I need some advice here Boys and Girls..........
Due to some family circumstances, I left the regional I was employed with about 9 months ago. I've been working an Engineering job since then, but the pull to go back to aviation is strong. Once in aviation, its real hard going back to an office...
Sorry to have to pass this on, but I too hung it up about two months ago. Now have a good Engineering job, have a new baby girl, fly Cessna's on the weekends, and couldn't be happier. Flying for PSA was fun, but I don't really miss it. It had become just another job. Take care.
Looking for a little bit of information.....
I'm giving up my job at a regional airline to resume working in the real world, but want to keep flying. My Wife and I are moving to Jackson, Michigan so I can take an Engineering job. Does anyone know of any good flying clubs in the area that...
CASA 212 is the ugliest for sure. Actually had a controller tell traffic that was looking for us "just look out there for a RV looking thing with wings".
I'll admit to a few highly intoxicating "post" flight briefings when I was instructing (beer bottles make great VOR's when discussing VOR tracking), and passing out in the back of a 421 in the hanger after a bash at local FBO. But flying under the influence...never. 12 hours is my limit (and my...
I would love to tell you to turn them down and keep instructing. However, if you aren't going to have to sacrifice to much by going to work there (moving, pay cuts, etc.), I'd probably take it and hope for the best. I currently work for the company you are thinking about. Things are very...
I'm glad I asked the question, because I knew that was the case with Raytheon, but did not realize that Flight Options handled that the same way. That would work really well for my Wife and I. We still own our home out in Colorado Springs (currently its rented out), and we would really like to...
A question for you Flight Options Guys and Gals.........How difficult would it be to commute from Colorado Springs or Denver while working at Flight Options? I think you guys get jumpseat on Air Tran and Southwest, and I'm aware of the travel allowance ($400 I think). I'm mainly wondering if...
With US Air (I actually work for one of the red headed stepchildren wholly owns), we get unlimited travel on US Air for Wife, Children, and Parents for about $150.00 per year. This would be less for just yourself, or for yourself and wife. Also you can get travel on other airlines for 10% of...
I agree with the above, a good place to work when times were good, probably not the best bet right now. They have guys laid off, and I believe that some of the CASA's are up for sale. I spent a little better than 1 year there from March 1999 to May 2000. The pay sucked and the schedule sucked. I...
Congrats! My Wife and I just discovered that we are expecting our first. Its good to hear that crew scheduling worked with you so well. Hopefully I'll get as lucky! Now if the contract is just half way decent.
