Another bit of info Flew with someone in training department. He said that they were "looking for about 150 -200 new hires next year, but that the number had not been settled on" Take that for what it is worth. I don't know that the specific number is really worth focusing on, but the flavor... -

Anyone hear of a FDX class in Dec?
December (November) Class The Nov 18 class had 24 people in it. When we completed the Basic Indoc course, we were split into 4 groups of 6 for the simulator phase. That is the "December" group that is being referred to. Some of the guys started the training phase in Nov, others in... -

Next Class The word to the Nov 18 class was that the next class was going to come on-line in March. That is from the folks in the training department. That being said....our class was supposed to start in September. When it got cancelled we were told not to expect a class until January - but... -

What was your best flight ever?
Great Flight July 4th, 1998 Was asked to perform a fly-over for a parade in Rhode Island. While waiting for our slot time...flew the VFR corridor down the Hudson River to the Statue of Liberty. Was asked by the controllers to make a tight turn around the statue and head back north... -

Got a Call from SWA today
Same routine here. Originally scheduled for Sept 18th. Postponed and then canx after 9/11. No Type Rating. Called this week, talked to LL and was given an early Jan interview date. Things are looking better. Max -

No extensions here
There are not allowing guys in our squadron to extend beyond their PRD/MSR (whichever is later). This used to be an option. The most recent info coming to us is consistent with what you are hearing...BUPERS is not approving the extension requests. Max
