We got a message from the big cheese (Chief Pilot)regarding hiring. It is a mixed message, but seems generally positive. I know that every bit of info helps when you're treading in the pool and the water is slowing crawling up over your nose....

Just about 2 years I would guess.
The equipment bid varies. Depends on company requirements. From what I can gather it seems to happen about once a year +/-.
Another bit of info
Flew with someone in training department. He said that they were "looking for about 150 -200 new hires next year, but that the number had not been settled on"

The Nov 18 class had 24 people in it. When we completed the Basic Indoc course, we were split into 4 groups of 6 for the simulator phase. That is the "December" group that is being referred to. Some of the guys started the training phase in Nov, others in...
Next Class
The word to the Nov 18 class was that the next class was going to come on-line in March. That is from the folks in the training department.
That being said....our class was supposed to start in September. When it got cancelled we were told not to expect a class until January - but...
More 11/18 news
Another bit of info for guys the guys waiting to get in.
Were told that a guy that interviews right now would probably be looking at a class date sometime in August. Hope this gives a better idea of timeline.

There are not allowing guys in our squadron to extend beyond their PRD/MSR (whichever is later). This used to be an option. The most recent info coming to us is consistent with what you are hearing...BUPERS is not approving the extension requests.
