You are absolutely right. That's the changing face of aviation now....It's like getting an MPL instead of a traditional pvt, inst, comm. God help these new kids coming into aviation.
I did the A320 type with the GI Bill bennies. They pay 60% of your type costs. I think it's great. I got an A320 type for literally $5K. Try FTI, HPA, Simcenter...all these accept GI Bill.
seriously....I know Go- Jet's not the best airline out there....but let's not find every little point and bash them on the thread. You must be really bored siucavflight. Get a life.
It's pretty amazing to see what the industry has come down to. CFI salaries from flight schools and pilot factories have gone up significantly. Saw a couple of academies in Phx oferring 2K bonuses and $30/hr, while regional salaries are still sailing in the 19/hr range. Wonder what change 2008...
Hi Guys,
what's the latest on your regional hiring? Are they slowing down due to winter months? Is the attrition is the same?? Heard from someone that Hula air (TSA) is slowing hiring until Jan. Wanted to know if that was the case with some of the other regionals as well. To me it seems...
Thanks guys definitely appreciate the replies.....the job is in Dubai. 63K starting salary....all tax free instructing in a Cirrius SR20/22. I am currently a US Marine and definitely want to do the airline gig....just looking at the salaries at the regionals is pretty scary. Getting into the...
Hi guys,
I have a question. If you have an offer to CFI for $63K tax free salary overseas or have a chance to get into 121 like the market is right now and think about the pay....what would you choose. The money or the equipment?? I have 1000TT 100 multi and have given about 500 hrs of...
If you are going in as a capt with over 500 pic in type, there's not much bs you need to deal with. Just an interview with the DGCA to validate your license. If you are an expat there, you don't have to convert your US certs....no exams to take, just a regs test. Should be fairly straight...if...
Got an interview with them Aug 15th. what is their current upgrade time and are first year F/O's able to pick up a lot of overtime. Thanks....didn't mean to hijack the thread.
UAL driver.....I see your point on making sure that students don't make the wrong decesion coming out of the Univ's on choosing GoJets. Howver in a business stand point the Univ's are not going to do that....because their funding for a program gets better if they can place students as pilots...
Hey thanks a lot guys...I know the first year F/O pay really hurts, but I guess I'll bite the bullet and see how it goes....as ATPcliff, deadstick and papps mentioned I guess the only way is to pick up more time, get into real estate or work within the company if there are other positions...
saw the new mins for Lynx F/O on climbto350....1500TT 2500 pref, with 500 PIC, 500 turbojet....and the pay is.....stand by for the drumroll......."it's a whopping 21/hr".....
