    AQ to DCA

Shotgun on the jumpseat when Jjp and Dopps discover they are flying together! Actually, I think Jjp has some valid points. One of the appeals of AQ to many employees and local customers is its Ohana local flavor. Something many mainland commuter pilots are oblivious to. Commuting is fine, so...

    Island Air sold

"This is B.S." The news or the post itself? The 2 prior IA guys who upgraded in Nov passed. And I DH'd on a flight with LB doing IOE. He was happy as a clam and I think he was the last one hired.

    Island Air sold

Concerning AQ pilots to bottom of the list. As part of our ATSB concessions, we were given contractual language that prevents any sale to another carrier were such a thing to occur.

    Island Air sold

Hey guys, don't usually speak up, but... Why would a company sell off a portion of itself to have that portion become a direct competetor? To allow that portion to grow as Zander stated? Makes no sense, its money in someone elses pocket. To get around a scope? Once again why, its money in...

    Hawaiian Re-fleet?

Out of curiosity, what is your hire date? I feel for you guys (including my own mates over there) and hope it turns around soon. Who knows, maybe boeing will get rid of Adams for you which would be a good thing long term. I've heard the rumors swirling from Brenneman in the wings to...

    Any Aloha info??

-200 for six months after joining the line, not DOH. Currently no junior manning but never know with expansion. Base bids in June with the big switcheroo in November. Expect to be in -200 until at least then. Focus on -200 for now and don't worry about overseas, it will come. The boeing...

    Any Aloha info??

Re: AQ 700 base is full with qual'd FOs (me) pushed back to 200s. Heard 28 -200 reserves for Dec, nearly 100% coverage with the new reduced sked. (Haven't checked my box yet.) And that doesn't include all of the new hires who haven't completed IOE so can't bid but will be flying the line...

    Island Air

Hog - Where did you hear the eleven planes thing? Find it hard to believe we could more than double our fleet in a single year, but would be great if it were true. Gate space in HNL, available destinations, and establishing service at those destinations all work against such a rapid expansion.

    Island Air

I suspect AQ hiring has stopped for awhile. The AQ-HAL cooperation leaves too many pilots on both sides. In a classy move, AQ has decided to carry extra pilots rather than furlough. Preferential bidding for bases coupled with a decrease in inter-island lines has caused a minor shuffle in the...

    ASA question ???

For a fellow Navy guy I'll reply. Don't sweat the ATR sim, its a breeze. Only surprise is how much it rises when you drop the final flaps, expect to push nose down and trim, especially if anywhere near glide slope intercept. I did the interview thing at ASA, got hired but went...

    Island Air Pilots

CARVEMASTER: You've got WAY too much free time on your hands, buddy! I'll cut your hair for only ten bucks, then you can afford to buy a drink with your 2 piece chicken dinner! Do Croatian surf boards have skegs on both sides?

    ASA Class

Aloha hired me on 9-7, then rescinded it post 9-11. HAL-AQ merger made my prospects look even bleaker over the winter, so I never left the ASA pool (which I was already in throughout the COMAIR strike). Once the merger fell through and expansion became necessary, Aloha was kind enough to...

    ASA Class

Got a call this morning for a May 6 class date, but need to decline because I got a 737 class instead. Does anyone know Julie Ellis' or ASA pilot recruitment phone number? Thanks

    Aia

We fly at night, before the sun comes up an after it goes down, but not for too long. Contrary to popular belief, there is instrument weather here, missed approaches and the whole nine yards. You better be instrument proficient before heading into the sim. Our training is very thorough...

    ASA Hiring

What is ASA's offer to Delta and how does it affect the pool (which I am currently swimming in)? Also, does anyone know how ASA determines who leaves the pool first? If I have been finger printed by the company, is that a good sign? Thanks for any input. I'm a bit out of touch here in Hawai'i.

    Island Air (Aloha)

AIA Its a nice small company, everyone is on a first name basis and knows one another. No hiring right now and movement is stagnant. HA - AQ merger has created some turmoil. Three furloughed AQ pilots are returning as Capts. For a time it was a great place to quickly move up to either...
