We all know there were a lot of Trannys with applications on file at SWA before the acquisition.
Which raises the obvious questions; If those guys were willing to go to the bottom of the SWA list pre acquisition, what, exactly has changed?
And more importantly, what does ALPA say when the...
WHEREAS: All pilots have until now, enjoyed the career advancements associated with mandatory retirement at age 60, and
WHEREAS: Those First Officers who expected that same career advancement will no longer benefit from it, and
WHEREAS: Those pilots approaching age 60 have received a...
Just curious;
What's the general feeling amongst the SW pilots about the possibility of bringing ALPA on the property?
Has there been any thought given to the possibility? I know the last union vote was defeated, but was fairly close.
Any input?
Look at line 167
Specifically, the last day of 4149 and the first day of 4293.
Wonder what else they missed.

Does anyone know if there's been any thought given to where the DFW crew's paystubs (and any other stuff for that matter) will be sent during the transition?
Since there won't be a DFW mailbox to put it in, will they actually send...
Anyone use one in a CRJ?
Thoughts on it? Is the ANR enough to use without earplugs?
More importantly, does the ANR work with the hotmike off? Since it's powered by mic bias, I'm wondering if you'd have to leave the PTT in the hotmike position, which seems pretty rude to the other pilot.
Anyone use the new Telex 850? Especially in an RJ?
I really like the idea of ANR with no batteries, but I'm wondering if it's quiet enough to wear without earplugs.
Comments?
It looks like ASA will begin running newhire classes in the next month or 2, with 1 class a month likely for the remainder of 2004.
Newhires are not required to resign their seniority if they are currently on furlough from another carrier.
The pay su*ks, the reserve system su*ks, (both issues...
In case anyone wasn't aware, ASA is not requiring furloughed pilots to resign their seniority numbers if hired here.
I spoke with a furloughed Midway pilot recently who was under the impression it was only DAL pilots who got that deal, but it's now anyone, so I thought I'd post a thread to...
