The TCI is the vertical distance required to climb from 35' above DER, through the 3rd segment.
TCI + field elevation = level off (acceleration) altitude.
We've got an XL with freon AND an APU! Seriously though, interesting discussion about the 100 vs the 300. I've heard the 100 was a turd, but wow. I'm sure it's not much different than the CE-510, Eclipse, and the like.

We're slated to get one, and I think the Frasca 141 is supposed to be replaced with this thing. No Flight Plan function or AUX pages... I hope it never shows up where I'm at. I see negative transfer from the KAP 140 in MSFX.
If you really need to fly it in the airplane (not an FTD) then any G1000 equipped aircraft should meet your needs, especially if an RMI will suffice. The Garmin Glass has 2 RMIs.
I find find a fixed card ADF to be a hell of a lot more fun than that though. Good luck in the hunt.
