    SWA sim/ground instructor

Almost positive there is a three year minimum before you are able to apply as a pilot. After your three year commitment you can apply and go through the same interview process as a street pilot.

    Southwest Airlines pay in training

Yes, that does make sense, except what if you are a reserve pilot? Do you have to actually fly above guarantee for the month before that second year pay kicks in? Say guarantee is 87 hours for the month and you don't fly much on reserve, say 50 hours, and you pick up a turn worth 6 hours...

    Southwest Airlines pay in training

Can you please explain this? What does "open time that exceeds their original line total for the month" mean? Thanks

    Lost FCC license... Help!

I think if you go to the FCC site there is a way to search for and I think print a temp as long as you got it within the last few years. A few years ago they started an online computer database that you can search. If you've had it for several years like I did, then yours won't be in that data...

    H&K Pilot Offer Expired

People... I didn't post this to start a pissing match about what guns are better than H&K, or what someone should buy instead. I just wanted to let everyone know that H&K recently ended this program that let you get a handgun that sells for close to $1000 for a reduced price of I believe $650...

    H&K Pilot Offer Expired

I was looking into buying the H&K USP Compact pistol using the pilot program for the reduced price but found out that the program expired on October 30th this year! Maybe if we all contact H&K and tell them that we want the program brought back they might reconsider cancelling it. Send them an...

    AWAC Interviews

From yesterdays "Weekly Wrap": Staffing Update As fall draws near, staffing models for the 1st quarter of 2011 are being analyzed. Currently, we have fifteen first officer candidates in our training “pipeline” with plans to start a new hire class of twelve additional candidates on September...

Where will an Air Wisconsin newhire "likely" be based?

Who mentioned a possible CLT base? Other pilots interviewing with you or the AWAC people conducting the interview?

    Ariat boots

If anyone is interested, I FINALLY found someone that has the discontinued Ariat Blackwater boots in stock on line and just ordered a pair today. All Ariat boots have composite shanks so they are airport friendly and will not set off the metal detector. They have a square toe and look sharp...

    Ariat boots

I have been looking for this boot in a size 12D for several weeks now and can't find them anywhere! Ariat has discontinued this style and they don't have another boot that is similar. I have another set of Ariats and they are awesome. I can only hope that they come out with this style again...

Job Opening, Air Wisconsin CRJ First Officers

From what i've heard, they were accepting resumes just to see what type of people would apply. They want to know what they will have to work with and how many people might be interested. I wouldn't expect them to start offering interviews for a while still.

Job Opening, Air Wisconsin CRJ First Officers

FYI... both links now show that they are accepting resumes for anticipated POTENTIAL hiring in early spring 2010.

    Air Wisconsin arbitration...?

Relax, there hasn't even been a ruling on any monetary awards yet. All the arbitrator has decided so far is that we will not be getting the pre-conssionary contract back. Shortly before that was announced, there was a rumor posted on our bitch board about only people hired before the...

Just curious... who wrote this letter??? Is this from Pinnacle's Union?

AWAC Pilots Get Hosed - Thanks ALPA

All the arbitrator has said so far in a nutshell is that the pilots have won the grievance. With this latest letter, he said that the pre-concessionary (2001) contract will not be reinstated, and that we will continue to work under our current (2003) contract. As of yet he has not ruled how...

    Christmas Dinners?

Air Wisconsin will have meals catered at their bases for all crews. At least one of them will be catered by Boston Market, so it should be a fairly decent spread.

    awac & bhm

USAirways changes the schedules from month to month. AWAC will fly a certain route for a few months and then USAirways will give it to PSA, or Mesa, or any of the other regional partners. Even w/in a given month, different regionals will fly the same route on different equipment depending on...

    Whisky Interview

The training manager has publicly said that there will be no new hire or upgrade classes in Jan because we are currently well staffed. They had planned on 20 resignations for December, but so far have only had about 7 and we are past the two week notice deadline for the month of December. Keep...

    Air Whiskey....PHL-SWF

Those low altitude routes suck! I'm batting 100 for bird strikes every time we fly those tower en route altitudes. Three bird strikes on one 35 minute flight!

    Air Wisconsin Schedules

They are hiring when they are currently "fat" on FOs because either way they will be needed once their is a decision on the Midwest flying. If we get it, we will need new blood to staff the growth... if we don't, they are anticipating many will leave due to lack of confidence in the company...
