    The end of Comair

But to say that the downfall of the company is on the shoulders of JC and Cory is BS! They didn't put the group on strike - over 99 % voted for it and walked out together. And for others to suggest that the pilots and the union brought down the company when management wanted to "adjust the...

    I resent certain interview questions

Ha Ha Ha! "Now that's funny right there! I don't care who you are!"

Indian Jet Plummets 7000' because co-pilot moved seat.

Yeah, that has bothered me for a while, too. And because it would cost $ to engineer another form of entry from the cabin, it'll never happen at certain operators.

Southwest "Poolie" calls are going out

Well, I'm looking forward to meeting Gup, Bigoober, Tejas, Whataburger, and all the rest. And I'm so darned happy, I'll buy YOU all a beer or three! C ya!

TSA pilot issue on abc evening news

<<<ALPA has obtained the required approval from TSA for nationwide CrewPASS implementation; the Association is urging each carrier to make this system available for use of their flight crewmembers.>>> Again, why isn't ALPA paying for it? They definitely have the money (from us) to do it.

TSA pilot issue on abc evening news

ALPA should take that money that've been siphoning off from us for so long and pay to have Crew Pass up and running at EVERY airport. I thought that was the whole reason that they were going down that road in the first place. What good is it to get the thing approved, and then not put it in place?

Southwest "Poolie" calls are going out

Yeah, I was wondering about that after I posted it. Felt like I'd been had. Won't be the last time, I guess.

Southwest "Poolie" calls are going out

Congrats man! Did he say anything about a class? What's the next step? Was it the DAL chief, or another base? I'm hoping to my call tomorrow.

Southwest "Poolie" calls are going out

I was told in my re-interview that there would be a "captain board" on Fri the 5th. So I figured that calls should be going out anytime.

Southwest "Poolie" calls are going out

Like I said, how much money is enough? When you have all the requirements covered, and can plan for retirement, how many toys do you need? If you can't make life work on FO pay at SWA, at anything beyond year 2, you've got problems!

Southwest "Poolie" calls are going out

But that's assuming no growth, right? And nobody leaving for "faster-moving" seniority lists at AA, CO, and USAirways as other posters have intimated. And, what's the big deal about upgrading? We all look for an upgrade while at a regional or similar, in order to get jet PIC and a liveable...

Southwest "Poolie" calls are going out

Have any of the re-interviewees gotten a call yet for the next step(s)? Are all of the calls coming out from DAL?

Express Jet Pilot says "NO" to scanner

The problem with that is that the shoe-bomber and underwear bomber were thwarting security overseas, not in the USA. They need to install these machines, and have the TSA at all airports that have passengers bound for the US. Have all US-bound passengers screend by TSA, with TSA procedures and...

    Would you take the plane?

Most of them out there these days surely didn't. They think that "paying their dues" means flight intstructing for 2 months, and being and FO for two years. And 90% of the ones that I've seen couldn't fly a whole leg, let alone an approach, to near-minimums with no autopilot or FD.

    New hire at WN/AT

Good point. I think that, with the wages that SWA FO's make, and the awesome work environment, you would have a great career there anyway. I know a guy that doesn't plan to ever upgrade there since they dropped the mandatory upgrade. Good trips, great days off, great money - sounds good to...

    New hire at WN/AT

And what is your alternative? Start at the bottom of a list of even more guys? Who will probably furlough for sure at some point in the future. At least SWA never has, and I for one think that they never will. They've been through the ringer lots of times before, and haven't furloughed yet...

    What do you call Airtran?

Wow! Is the General actually building somebody up, instead of tearing them down? He must be waiting for a class date at Air Tran, er, SWA.

    SWA Poolies . . . a glimmer of hope?

When do they post that schedule?
