    Landing mins

121 guy here. Flying to an airport the other day with poor weather. The ILS required 3/4, but the field was reporting only 1/4. A "dotcom" flight accepted the approach and flew in. Smaller airport, no RVR. How is this legal? Thanks

Smaller airport, there was no RVR

    Landing mins

Thanks. I guess 91 has no restriction on needling a minimum to accept an approach attempt. Yikes unless you're CAT2 or higher less than 1/4 doesn't sound safe.

    ASA/Xjet finally out of business...?

Try calling any number for the company. Chiefs, scheduling, the main number all disconnected.

    Getting to Cargo ramps

Called those numbers. They just give an address/location. They question is, is there a way to get to those locations without having to pay for a cab.

    Getting to Cargo ramps

Thanks. That is kind of what I figured. I was hoping there was some ” magic” shuttle that would get me there.

    Getting to Cargo ramps

I'm trying to figure out the best way to get from the passenger terminals to the cargo ramps in an attempt to catch a jumpseat. Specifically Fedex or UPS in DTW. Thanks!

    LASA Class

Not 100%, but Legacy Atlantic Southeast Airlines comes to mind.

SkyWest to do flying for American Airlines?

Its official. Memo came out this morning. 11 CRJ 200s out of DFW starting Jan 2013. Its a 4 year CPA with the option to extend and exchange for larger aircraft is scope alllows.

Big meeting: Skywest, ASA/XJet, Alpa, SAPA

So if the ASA and Xjet merger created a "Super" Regional, what would adding Skywest create? Mega? Ultra? SureJet?

If I Hear One More Personal Story...

If you haven't already, set up the email notification. You can get an alert to your personal email when you have a new Xjet messsage in your Inbox. Might save you a few logins looking for the award email.

ASA guys, find out the real story

You have created some confusion. This was posted today (May, 2), but suggests the call is "tomorrow". Is it today (5/2) or tomorrow (5/3)?

    ASA union recall

Re-elected? When did this happen? I don't remember getting any info to cast a vote.

    ASA Ready Reserve

FWIW...I have been told by several schedulers, some supervisors, that they have nothing to do with the auto notifications. Supposedly the auto notify system is totally computer generated.

    Surejet name on hold

Sent my letter last night and had a a response from BH this morning. In a nutshell, it's being "reviewed".

    Call for Release

So you are saying the decision on when or how to get a time is up to the Center controlling that area and not the tower? The tower just works based on what the Center is telling them?

    Call for Release

I'm slowly understanding how the "call for release" works. So how difficult is it to have to call again? I have been in a situation where we had an unexpected delay, i.e. passenger boarding issue or maybe late fueler and had to ask for a few minute extension. Is it a hassle to do so and is...
