Thanks to all. Decided things looked lousy enough to postpone arrival until Saturday.
The idea of arriving into an early afternoon blizzard and then having to negotiate I-94 north into the hinterlands of WI was something that could wait a day. As it looks like there is more on the way, this...
I'm not familiar with the ops at MDW but the wife and I are suppose to be flying in tomorrow on WN for a holiday visit and the weather looks to be pretty crappy.
Does MDW do a good job keeping the ops going during major snowstorms or should we figure out some sort of alternate plan.
Tks in...
Need to overnight PTY in transit to CTG. Anyone willing to let me in on N# crew hotels I can hook up with. Would feel better staying where the yank crews stay. Thanks in advance.
Looking for a nicer place to stay with the wife on an upcoming long weekend. My Regional doesn't fly in there but I figure if they are crew friendly I might be able to call and swing a deal.
Thanks in advance. Sky
Trying to schedule a week for next month and heard it's a good idea to bring one along to make things easier. Is this really the case? If so, is there a particular type i.e. brand, caliber, etc to seek out?
Also, any suggestions on what else to bring along ( besides drinking money...) would...
Ditto on Dylin's thoughts. I think the public would freak if they got a look see at some of these schedules we fly. Especially when set next to the new trucking rest requirements. Shocking to say the least. Next add the pay issue.........
Thanks for the "view" from your perspective. Lot's of good info. for all of us to use. Keep em coming if you've got more. Nothing better than to know your helping the guy whose trying to help you.
Regards!
Anybody know of site where one can dowload current FAR &/or AIM data in their entirety? Prefer finding it in a searchable PDF format. I'd like to travel with the info. on my laptop. Thanks in advance.
Just ask the folks at AA how the most recent Whithouse Dem. helped their cause during negotiations a few years back. Sold them out is what that administration did. Give me a break......
You could fly into Seaside, call the Stephenie Inn in Cannon Beach for a pick-up and have dinner their. It's a bit spendy, $25-$35 per person, but the dinner and the setting has always been worth it to me. They have 2 seatings each evening and reservations are a must.
A less spendy option...

Havn't been up there in about 8 years but there was a small motel located in town when I was there. Put in a call to Penn Air in ANC(corporate, not resevations), I'm sure they have all the info you could want and would'nt mind sharing. Folks up there in AK are all about helping each other...
I second the recommendation of The Turbine Pilots Flight Manual. It does a terrific job of breaking down all the major systems in an easy to read format. Well worth having in your library. Invaluable for interview/oral prep. Enjoy.
Here's a little ditty to add to the mix
