    The nic is it!

Who is paying for that? The day in court, not the glue. Judge Conrad in CLT already told USAPA they are not allowed to use any funds beyond the 50k they needed to file the En Banc petition. Which, as we all know, was denied  Time to start baking cookies fellas!

    The nic is it!

I hear Bradford is supremely confident. They have it all figured out. This is all going according to the plan they hatched in a van 8 years ago. How many chapters will be devoted to USAPA in Flying the Line Volume 3?

    The nic is it!

I think the days of APA having their way with other pilot groups are long gone. Considering their expectations most AA pilots are going to be sorely disappointed with the SLI.

    EK Road Shows

Yes the IRS has audited many EK pilots. I personally know of 3 and they all seemed to know many others. There seems to be an IRS office in NC that is gunning for EK pilots. They claim that all flying done over international waters is taxable. That kind of kills the whole purpose of flying...

    The nic is it!

I don't think damages are going to be considered with the 9th. They just mentioned attorney fees which should be in the range of 100k. However the separate litigation in NC with Judge Conrad has the potential to award damages. It also names 14 USAPA officers personally. Hopefully those reps...

    The nic is it!

The west proposal places 2004 AWA hires next to 2000 AA hires. Nothing even close to what you mentioned.

    The nic is it!

It doesn't say that. The arbitrators are still free to merge lists in any way they choose. But what it does do is blow the East committees proposal right out of the water. It also makes the AA committee look like they are trying to re-order the East and West list. I wonder if they both have...

    The nic is it!

A couple quotes from the ruling. "Plaintiffs have waited almost eight years for a resolution of their duty of fair representation claim on the merits. We will defer that resolution no longer." "We thus remand this case with instructions to the district court to enter an order enjoining USAPA...

Actually there is an adjustment for your housing allowance. It's based off the city you are a foreign resident of. Dubai has a very high cost of living adjustment. I believe it's in the high 40k range. So you get your 90k+ exclusion plus the cost of living adjustment which puts your tax free...

    EK Road Shows

FO's make about 150-165k first year if you include housing allotment. CA's about 205-240 depending on longevity. Factor in the tax break and yes you would take home about the equivalent of a guy making 280(CA) and 200+(FO) in the states. The money is good. It's the quality of life that has...

just flew a 3-day with "special radio voice guy"...

The other month I was flying over India and a Delta pilot checked in with Mumbai or Chennai control, can't remember. Then he started complaining about the "scratchy radios with a squeal in the background." No problems there as I agree Indian ATC facilities are generally crap. But then he went...

    EK Road Shows

Emirates is conducting several US road shows soon. Just a heads up to those considering joining. I would avoid it unless you are nearing retirement and want to save some tax free money prior to hanging up your career. Quality of life has gone down the toilet during the last year and those...

    Dubai and Skype

Skype to skype works fine in Dubai. Skype to a mobile or land line number will not work unless you log on to a VPN first.

All those youngsters fresh out of flight school. What a great career :)

    Delta cutting International flights 3%

I don't think most people in the west really understand the driving force behind Emirates and Etihad. They were not conceived to be money making businesses. The fact that they do make money is a nice bonus. But the airlines are designed to put the UAE on the world map. Particularly Dubai...

    Delta cutting International flights 3%

You hit the nail on the head. The state subsidised airlines from the ME represent a major threat to the US legacies going forward. EK alone has 80 A380's, 46 77W's, and 115 777x's yet to be delivered. They just announced Orlando, 2nd daily Boston, and 2nd daily SEA with many more to come...

    Call to Action... Our futures

General, That's the problem. They are set on world domination and the US government is too chicken sh#t to do anything about it. Ordering 150+ 777X's trumps ALPA's lobby. None of the US/Euro carriers can compete with a country lacking basic labor laws and a regulator that doesn't regulate...

    Call to Action... Our futures

General, About a year ago you made numerous posts that the ME3 don't pose any threat to the US legacies. Have you changed your mind? EK just announced double daily 777 from SEA-DXB. Wonder if Delta will start SEA-BOM service now?

    American... Get that rig!

As a reference 12 year CA pay at AA for the 737/A320 will be $228/hour this year and by 2019 $256/hour. As Carl mentioned there isn't much else n the contract except for the 401k contribution.
