Youngest widebody captian at airline with oldest FAs?

ALPA should take some of the ASA bonus money and start a jager-bomb fund for this guy. Maybe the Riddle guy with the new hair cut can become his wingman so they can work their game together.

Ameristar, the new Schedule, and Ethics

The word is official, Ameristar's new schedule is 5 on, 2 off, plus every fourth weekend you have to work through Saturday and Sunday, making that week a 12 day straight stretch. This basically works out to 32 days more work per year, with no increase in pay or vacation to compensate. This is...

    How many CFIs are there?

Does any entity keep track of how many CFIs are out there? Also, do they separate those into groups of those that are actively teaching, and those that are just renewing every two years to keep their certificate? Thanks.

    Autopilots in Turbulence

I've only flown with an autopilot a few times. I was wondering if autopilots do a good job of flying the aircraft in turbulence, or if a human can do a better job?

    Weather Charts

Does anyone know where I can get the weather charts shown in the Aviation Weather Services book? Obviously you can't get them over the phone from the briefer, and I don't see how to get them from duats. The FSS isn't anywhere near so that's out too.

    Furlough Protection

Is furlough protection something worth bargaining for in the future? In the worst case scenario management will use the unusual circumstances to get around that clause in the contract, such as the current situation at United. In the future pilots may be better off trading no furlough clauses for...

    ANG Questions

If anyone has a few minutes I was hoping that they could give me some answers to a few questions I have about the ANG: 1. How competitive is it really? Does the type of aircraft make a difference, for example, are F-16s harder to get then KC-135s? What factors into getting an interview, and...
