A 1st class medical is a job requirement, and depending on how the application is scored (computer or manually) it'll almost certainly be denied for not meeting the minimums. -

So you can't look at your kids eyes as a Delta Air Lines pilot, but it's perfectly okay as a Delta Connection pilot? How does that make sense. -

SWA to buy Sun Country
I could see it happening. Delta's tough stand in ATL hurt SW/AAI. SWA buying SY will give them instant 2nd largest presence in MSP to attack Delta and also pick up 737-800NGs on the cheap. Can't imagine the family owners of SY not eventually giving up (selling) the airline. -

PCL, do you know what merging/acquiring airlines need to get a SOC status or the SOC itself? Mainly do the pilots need to have a JCBA and/or SLI before SOC? Or are one or both those things not a necessity and can continue flying under each individual contract with each individual list... -

I'm not bummed out, I'm happy. For long term stability and viability this is definitely the better option. Alaska has been flying for ~83 years and is basically a legacy airline that knows what it's doing. -
