This position requires a high level security clearance. It is with a company called URS. Not an easy job to get! Especially, since it is the Chief Pilot job!
Lots of experience, out of work, No unemployment, no prospects, wondering what the purpose of all this effort is to bring?
Basically, depressed and burned out!
All I can say is if, you can't make it on 50K per year... then you are in for a rude awakening! Maybe you can live in a tents and eat MRE's. to get by?
Oh, MRE's might be too expensive.

:uzi: Is it intelligent to advertise, you don't take the course seriously and tell the public (FAA) that you don't do the renewal as intended?
Broadcasting this kind of stuff is a good way for the FAA to change the rules and make you take a checkride every two years!
I hope everyone here will...
I have lived here in Las Vegas for 30 years... this used to be an Aviation town.
Not anymore! I would say that 40% of the old corporate flight departments are gone.
The Grand Canyon business is gone except for the "Bug Smasher" helicopters... and they don't really go to the REAL CANYON... Just...
Souinds reasonable, but how about this: They don't want a bunch of pilots who aged into old men who only have a few years left to fly. Guys like me... I am 53 and if this economy takes 7 years to recover, my flying career is pretty much "down the tubes."
Hopefully, but not likely, we'll see...
Profits, what profits... we'll be lucky if anyone works, as a Pilot, in the next 1 1/2 years. We are going to see drastic changes in the Airline Industry; They're going to have to pay for fuel... that should be fun to watch!
What are you doing, for a living, now that the "Pilot World" has come to a screeching halt?
Are you still flying?
Are you working outside of Aviation?
Are you unemployed?
Tell us what you life is like?
So, more indications something going on at Southwest.
What are they doing?
Are they going to merge with someone?
Are they going to beat up on someone?
Or, are they just going to blow away in the wind?
