    Any news at F9?

Recently like right now? I know of a few F9 pilots swimming in the LUV pool. In my opinion, there really is no comparison between the two. One is profitable, one is not. One has stood the test of time, one has not. One has several bases, one does not. One pays well, one does not. I am not trying...

    Recent JB hires

Were any of you guys offered a class given a choice of A/C or has it all been the E190? In responding, be sure to mention when you interviewed. Thanks. (Moderators-Please don't move this thread to another section...I don't think a lot of people look in the many other forums that the prior posts...

    fltplan.com question

This is what I thought and I appreciate the replys. Even if it is "legal" there is no proof that you obtained approved weather except by calling FSS. I prefer they share some of the responsibility to throughly brief me.

    fltplan.com question

Does fltplan.com constitute a legal weather briefing, or do you still need to call FSS when using this service? Citing of sources in all replys would be beneficial. Thanks.

    PIC Turbine or SIC Jet

I think you made the right choice. Best regards to you.

    PIC Turbine or SIC Jet

King Air series aircraft are the most popular turboprops in the world. Having a solid (1000+/-) amount of experience in them is invalueable. Unless you would recieve a type rating in the 400 immediately, I would stay. Even if they tell you they will type you in 6 months, I would stay on the KA...

Advice Please Making the 121-91 Career Change

Thanks to all who have given advice. The term regional/major is an airline that, by DOT standards is classified as a major, but by pay and aircraft size is a regional. I have tried on my resume to highlight the previous corporate work I have done but it doesn't seem to help. I have been...

Advice Please Making the 121-91 Career Change

I am a regional captain wanting to get back to corporate flying for a number of reasons; mainly I don't like the airline lifestyle, i.e. time away from home. (I briefly flew corporate when I was low time before being hired at the airlines.) I have tried for the last couple of years to get back...

    Flying for a College

Anyone ever flown for a college or university flight department? I am not talking about learning to fly, I am talking about professional flight departments and pilots flying turbine equipment. What are the schedules typically like, the QOL, and the pay? General info is appreciated. Thanks.

    How many of you are......

If you enjoy your current gig, even if you just tolerate it, I would strongly caution you against coming to aviation, especially the airlines. 91/135 can be better, but a lot are worse. For a low time guy, the good ones are nearly impossible to find and unfortunately, time isn't on your side to...

    Pinnacle Air Services

Stay away from this operator if you want a good job. If you like being treated like a p.o.s., this is the place for you. No one on property has been there longer than a year and a half. Most are shown the door. Use extreme caution.

    121 or corporate?

I would have to agree with the others. If you were fed up with 121 flying and wanted out for good, as I am, you would take the 135 job. Stating that the lure of 121 will be there when things improve tells me you would likely regret your choice to go corporate. Look 10 years down the road and...

    Career Advice Please

My wife says my career=my choice. The money isn't really that much of an issue since we did just fine before I upgraded, plus she makes a good paycheck. You are right on the money with the contradictions. That is the problem. I don't know if the lure of airline flying will always be there. The...
