SWA/AT traffic way off in ATL

Doubt they ever wanted to be "big" in ATL.

Accelerating 737 from Airtran to SWA

Back to the start of the thread: never mind. FLica doc just came out, and the Wyndham bar rumor seems to be true. Go figure ...

Accelerating 737 from Airtran to SWA

The last ""etched-in-jello" plan was that the 737's would be here until 12/28 (about 6 of them). Now that, according to maintenance, has been moved up to 11/30. Just wondering for those dudes who were hoping for the 1 to 4 months off with pay ;)

Accelerating 737 from Airtran to SWA

Looking for any truth to a rumor that has all the 737s over to SWA, from the Airtran side, by November. Anyone else hearing this?

No growth at SW until 2016 now

So, on one hand we have an organization that "has the experience in dealing with [sic] management" solely capable of keeping Section 6 on the side of labor ... and on the other hand it's - "well, the local MEC sucked" it's not our fault. There's 2% I'll never see a return on.

No growth at SW until 2016 now

Because ... ALPA (via Airtran and the SLI) dealt so well with SW management in the past couple of years?

    SWA and IPADS

The ipads have to be cellular capable - anyone know if we have to buy a plan along with it?

    AAI to SWA Training Schedule

Since my whole life seems to be promulgated off of Airtran 2001 rates, voting "no" will still be a raise. So, no, I wont be voting 'yes' just because SWAPA says to ...

    AAI to SWA Training Schedule

FI only counts if it's PCL ... right? Just got the memo on our side. I see what you are talking about, but have to say .... no more ambiguous has ever been made. It can be read many different ways. Can anyone explain the third paragraph?

    AAI to SWA Training Schedule

Vacancy rebid? Can you enlighten on that?

    AAI to SWA Training Schedule

Other than you typing this in FI, where is this 'officially'? From RGS a few weeks ago, the last 737 will be delivered to Seattle on 28 Dec.

    AAI to SWA Training Schedule

Funny ... all this talk about paid holidays. Yet that is only one of many possibilities - none of which are set in writing. The only thing to go off of is past experience and that isn't exactly promising.

    SWAPA wins grievance with company

I was talking about actual line-pilots, so ... I meant besides him.

    SWAPA wins grievance with company

The NPA was pathetic, but don't kid yourself, ALPA was the lesser of 2 evils. You'd be hard pressed to find an ALPA "fan" online at Airtran. As for the negotiating timeline, nothing occurs in a vacuum - so the 1.5 year timeline argument is, well, naive.

SWA Base Assignments given during training

You're assuming that AT pilots are coming over via a seniority bid. That is not the case. Many of us are watching junior pilots go over (some forced) while our bid to transition is denied.

SWA lands at wrong Branson Airport

We all know that there isn't just one thing that makes an accident/incident. The "error chain" is something that is familiar to all of us. The problem here is, in the last 12 months, SWA as a company has broken A LOT of links in the chain. Someone at Dallas Love needs to sit down and stop...

    SouthWest to buy Jetblue?

JB is too technologically advanced. It'd cost too much to dumb them down into the SWA mold. Wont happen.

Southwest changing it's "stance" in ATL. HMMMMMM

Airtran was de-emphasizing ATL before SWA came along, things are just continuing on the same lines under new management. Nothing new going on here.

    Southwest Line on Credit?

At the time of the bid we had to go off the information at hand - and assume it was factual. That was that there would be two bases for the SWA 717: Atlanta and Tampa. We were told that there would not be SWA bases with both the 717 and 737, hence the 717 was the sole route to stay in...

    Southwest Line on Credit?

At the time the bids were done, depending on seniority, an Atlanta base.
