    AGE 65 now LAW!!!

Age 65 is just another example of the gov't 'regulated' airline industry. -Allowing pensions to be dissolved and passed on to the taxpayers. Changing the retirement age due largely to this travesty. (where are the mgmt cuts?) -Artificially trumping supply and demand to keep airlines in...

    question to CO new hires

10 months. I have a friend that was told he was in the short stack about the same time I was. He's never been called (?). I think the key, once in the stack, is to update very frequently.

We need more oxygen to protect us from those wretched chemtrails!

Widespread public distain of airline pilots (or lack of)

727 driver is right. The public will show surprise that so many pilots make less than school teachers. However, they will show even more surprise when they can't get that transcon ticket for 300 bucks. The public won't bail us out. We have to do it ourselves. I do think the perception is...

    American Eagle -> American Airlines?

I was told that back in that huge hiring wave prior to 9/11, it was about 4%. Your chances were not very good at all in advancement to AA.

    Americas 10 worst Airlines!

Until they start addressing the real issues and realizing what is really going on in the industry then I hold no creedance to these types of articles. I treat them for what they are...sensationalist whining. USAtoday, national news, Forbes, etc. haven't a clue. They don't want to know.

    Eagle? Stay away newbies!

The irony of this is that pre-9/11, AA was hard pressed to hire many pilots from AE. During a period when they hired 100 a month, 2 or 3 were from AE. The flowthrough? I won't even go there. Now, AE's list has miraculously gotten really senior. They don't want AE pilots at AA, yet they don't...

    Eagle? Stay away newbies!

I can only hope things work our for you guys over there at AE. There's no reason to leave AE out of the picture when it comes to flying jobs at AA. A good solid company will reward its employees, regardless of cost. Good luck guys.

    AGE 60 passes Senate today..

No Kidding. As far as managements go, we can now work longer, so we won't need quite as lucrative retirements. FO's don't need a pay raise. Afterall, you can just work longer! It will all come out in the wash when we upgrade at 64 and Congress passes age 70. Right? So, just spend what you got...

    CAL time on Reserve??

2 weeks this past winter, IAH. Those who were hired later in the spring were on reserve most of the summer.

Pilots Respond to NWA Recruitment Program

'WE' pilots know the implication of this. However, the public has no clue, nor will they ever, nor do they care to. So long as the tickets are cheap, they have demonstrated no desire to care who/what flies the plane. It could be Mr. Chao, from China, who makes $500/month and has 400TT, is half...

Senior Pilots Coalition Lobbies Against "60" Rule

That's playing on public perceptions. We all know there are some 30 year olds out there that are sharp as a tack while some guys who have been doing this for 30 years are downright scarey.

Demand high for UAL pilot positions

I wonder if the interview has changed at all since the 90's? Guys with thousands of hours hassled over being 7 hours off in their log book, while others far less experienced got hired.

Finally made it to the big dance!!!
