It may have something to do with the fact that Chris was not part of the Blue Pilot Fund. When guys make the decision not to be part of a program that helps not only them self, but the entire group, the group sometimes decides to make the same decision in return. Not saying it is right or not...
This is true. Last class had 25 in it. 16 320 and 9 190. Everyone in class could have held BOS or JFK and were the only options directly out of class. Next class will have 30 openings. Rumor is for about 350 new hires between Oct 1, 2015 and Dec 31, 2016.
Not sure exactly what you mean. We can pay taxes on 8% this year and another 8ish% next year, or all 16ish% next year. Personally I will take 8% this year and put that money to work for me 5-6 months earlier. If you don't want your 8% due to the taxes send me your 8% and I will gladly pay that...
JBALPA stance
Recently, management announced the new Gateway 7 program. The JetBlue MEC views this ab initio program as an untimely and unwarranted lowering of hiring standards that will negatively affect our company and our profession. Therefore, we oppose the implementation of this program at...
They can announce a new whatever farm in every damn city we serve as long as they continue to follow it up the next week with an additional 8% profit sharing check.
Many 190 Captains jumped to the 320 in the most recent bid. This sent the 320 upgrade significantly more senior than the past few bids. Current 190 upgrade still sits about 2.5 years however 320 Captain went to about 4.5 years. This may just be an isolated event due to seat locks being up...
Says the grumpy junior 320 Captain. See, another reason guys don't upgrade at JB. Being a junior 320 Capt is rough for so many reasons. Hard to find a happy junior 320 Capt at JB. Pretty easy to find a happy FO though. Just the way it is I Suppose.
Also the upgrading from somewhat senior FO to reserve captain just doesn't make sense financially. For example say as a top 40-50% FO you are able to bid your vacations off which many can. You also get 16-18 days off, all weekends and holidays. So you are able to sell back 9-10 hours of PTO...
If general Lee was a real pilot he would know that Nrita, London, Midland, Odeasa. All the same 5-10k foot piece of concrete. Who gives a damn. You can get the same beer anywhere you go. The only thing that matters is how much $$$ you make, and how much time off you get while making that...
BOS is junior so he would have no problem at all getting BOS directly out of training regardless of aircraft type. The airplane he is on would depend on his relative age in his class and what the company needed the day he starts training. That part of the equation is a complete crap shoot. It...
The JB application window opened Aug 7 and will close Aug 14. Internal email said all applicants must resubmit or update their info or will be dumped from the system. Good luck to all.
JB stays across the street at the Verdanza. Crew rate $87. Also at the Condodo which is closer to the port $159.
Verdanza is cheap, but you get what you pay for. If it's just for a nights sleep saving the extra $90 and spending it on booze may be worth it to ya.
NAI and this business model is a bigger threat to our careers and livelihood than the ME3 will ever be. I hope the big 3, JB, and SW drop 12 flights a day on the same routes at the same time.
