I am not surprised , dumb and dumber runs that airline

Actually they seem pretty smart. Dumb would be those pilots who keep working under those conditions.

Mesa classes are packed because they are telling the new hires that they will be in the left seat in two years.

Hook, line and sinker....

If they aren't a captain, then they'll be a senior FO. Latest upgrade went fairly junior, so it's very possible to upgrade in 2 years with pilots holding out for quality of life. However, if they are holding out for the e-jet, then that will definitely skew how junior the upgrades will continue.

Mesa has stated total pilot group will settle around 1100 pilots once all planes arrive.

Easy math - top 50% in the left seat.

Mesa has zero attrition in the capt ranks. Most guys have 15 years +. New hires will be lucky to see the left seat in 5 years

It's not easy math. It will never be 50/50. There are always FO's that choose quality of life over the upgrade. Add in longer vacation time for senior CA's, FO's waiting for a better jet with new domicile's, and all that together will give a different ratio. The latest upgrade class had an FO 65% down the list that will be upgrading.
In terms of attrition, a fair amount of FO's here are downgraded captains from the bad times. They have PIC turbine time and are marketable for leaving.
I just don't see where it will take 5 years to upgrade at Mesa.

There is no such thing as a quick upgrade- Mesa doesn't even have one new 175 on line yet-

Let's not forget, these are UALs airframes.

Don't count your upgrade time until your in the left seat rolling down the runway.

What kind of person stays at MESA for 15+ years? Serious question, why?
